I'm not talking about what hot new designer has deigned to design eyewear with his or here name emblazoned on the frame. I'm talking about frames that fit your face (optically and aesthetically), lenses that are precision ground (not scalloped in one cut) and camera quality coatings which cut glare and allow more light to pass through to you.
What's the difference? Fatigue at the end of the day, perhaps a bit of a headache starting or just plain soreness from poorly fitted or adjusted frames. I use the analogy of a custom tailored suit (I've only owned one and see no need for more in casual Boulder, CO). A tailored suit fits and drapes well allowing you to move more comfortably and easily. You don't even need to have the finest fabric because with a great fit the fabric feels right.
There are a multitude of components which make up a face. At Wink Optical we're not only working hard to fit the unique combinations that are you but we shop for frames from optical designers (not clothing designers) to find the right mix to allow you to see better with less aggravation.
Optics are measured millimeter by millimeter so tolerances are small but they all end up making a big difference.
